This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and safeguard your personal information when you visit our website www.gardengoat.com (the "Website") or take part in our text message, email, and call programs (the "Programs," described under Text Message, Email, and Call Programs), including our post-project surveys and review requests. It does not cover information we collect offline, such as in person, unless we say so. By using our Website or joining a Program, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.

The Website and Programs are intended for people in the United States. If you use them from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to, processed, and stored in the United States.

Information We Collect

Information You Give Us

When you request a quote, fill out a form on our Website, contact us, or take part in a Program, we collect the information you choose to give us, such as:

  • Name, email address, phone number, and the address of the property where you need work
  • Project details, such as the type of work, your budget, the best time to reach you, and any notes or photos you send us
  • The content of messages you send us through forms, text messages, or email
  • Your answers to satisfaction surveys, including Net Promoter Score (NPS) ratings, other ratings, and comments about work we completed
  • Any other information you choose to send us

You don't have to give us personal information to browse the Website. If you choose not to give us certain information, we may not be able to answer your request, run certain Programs, or provide certain services.

Information Collected Automatically

When you visit the Website, we and the service providers listed under How We Share Your Information automatically collect information about your device and how you use the Website, such as:

  • Device Information (e.g., IP address, browser type, operating system, device type, and language settings)
  • General location, such as the city and state your IP address points to
  • The pages you visit, the links and buttons you click (including our phone and email links), how far you scroll, how long you stay, and the page that sent you to us
  • Timestamps, session identifiers, page speed measurements, and error reports
  • If you arrive from one of our ads, details of the ad click: Google's click ID (gclid, gbraid, or wbraid), the campaign tags in the link you followed (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_term, and utm_content), and the page you landed on. We keep these in your browser's local storage for up to 90 days and send them to us only inside a form you choose to submit
  • Which version of a landing page you saw, if we are testing more than one.

We also record some visits to the Website ("session recordings") to find parts of the Website that are confusing or broken. A recording shows the pages you viewed and how you moved, clicked, and scrolled on them. What you type into form fields is hidden in your browser before the recording is sent, and recordings are kept for up to 30 days.

We use this information to run the Website, measure how well it and our advertising work, understand how visitors use it, detect and prevent fraud, and keep it secure.

  • Invite you to leave a review on a public website, if you choose to, and keep track of which review requests we have sent and completed
  • Improve our services, the Website, and our communications with you, including troubleshooting, testing, and measuring how the Website performs
  • Measure our advertising, including which ads and pages lead to calls and quote requests, and, with your consent, send limited promotional messages about our services
  • Protect against fraud, misuse, and security incidents, and enforce our policies
  • Comply with legal or regulatory obligations, if applicable, and respond to lawful requests

We will not use your information for purposes unrelated to these activities without your consent. We do not sell personal information, and we do not make decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you (such as refusing service) using only automated means.

Text Message, Email, and Call Programs

We communicate with customers and people who contact us by text message (SMS/MMS), email, and phone. By giving us your phone number or email address and opting in to messages from us, you agree to the Program terms in this section and to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not join a Program.

Program Description

Program name: GardenGOAT LLC Customer Communications
Description: One-time and recurring messages by SMS, MMS, phone, and email about service scheduling and support, post-project surveys (including NPS), feedback requests about completed work, invitations to leave public reviews, other service-related messages, and, where permitted, limited promotional messages about our services.

Message Frequency and Charges

Message frequency may vary based on how you interact with us and which Programs you join (for example, your number of projects, survey requests, or questions you send us). Message and data rates may apply. Your wireless carrier may charge you for text messages under your mobile plan, and you are responsible for those charges.

Opting In

You can opt in to messages from us by, for example, submitting a form on our Website that includes consent language, asking us for text or email updates, giving us your information during a service visit or call, or otherwise agreeing to receive messages from us.

Opting Out (STOP)

To stop receiving text messages from a Program, reply STOP to any message we send you. We may send you one message confirming that you have been unsubscribed. After that, you will no longer receive text messages from that Program, but you may still receive messages from other Programs you have joined until you opt out of those as well. You can also ask us to stop sending you text messages, emails, or calls by contacting us using the details under Contact Us.

Carrier Disclosures

Carriers are not liable for any delayed or undelivered messages. Whether a Program is available, and how messages are delivered, may depend on your carrier's coverage and network conditions.

Post-Project Surveys and Review Requests

After we complete a project or service, we may contact you by phone, SMS/MMS, or email to ask you to complete a satisfaction survey, give a Net Promoter Score (NPS) or other rating, tell us about the work we performed, or leave a review on a public website, such as an online review or social media site. Taking part in surveys, feedback requests, or public reviews is voluntary, and declining will not affect your ability to receive services from us.

SMS Privacy

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. We do not sell, rent, or share your mobile phone number, text message consent information, or opt-out status with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes. We may share this information only with third parties that help us provide the messaging service, including platform providers, phone companies, and other vendors who assist us in the delivery of text messages, or as required by law.

All the categories of sharing described in this Privacy Policy exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties, except the service providers that assist us in delivering our text messages or as required by law.

How We Share Your Information

We do not sell personal information. We share it only in the limited cases described below.

Service Providers

We share information with companies that help us run the Website, our business, and our Programs, such as hosting, analytics, advertising measurement, call tracking, survey and review-request, and messaging providers. They may use it only to provide services to us, under confidentiality and security obligations, and we do not allow them to use your personal information for their own marketing. Cookies, Advertising, and Your Choices

You can set your browser to refuse some or all cookies, delete them, or alert you when cookies are being sent. If you turn cookies off, some parts of the Website may not work properly. If the Website shows a cookie banner or preference tool, you can also use it to manage some types of cookies.

The analytics and advertising tools listed under How We Share Your Information may set cookies and collect information about how you use the Website, and we may combine that information with other information we collect through the Website for the purposes in this policy. You can stop Google Analytics from collecting your visits with Google’s opt-out browser add-on.

Measuring our ads: When you send us a request after clicking one of our Google ads, we tell Google Ads that the request happened so we can see which ads work. To help Google match the request to the ad click, your browser sends Google a hashed (scrambled) copy of the email address and phone number you entered. If you arrive from an ad and call us, Google may show you a forwarding phone number, so Google can count the call and report basic call details to us. We may also later tell Google Ads whether a request became a qualified lead or a sold job, using the click ID saved with your request.

Global Privacy Control (GPC): Some browsers and extensions can send a Global Privacy Control signal. Where applicable law requires it, we will treat a GPC signal as a request to opt out of certain processing, such as certain types of "sharing" for targeted advertising under state law. On the Website, a browser sending a GPC signal does not load the Google Ads tag, does not store ad click IDs, and sends Google no conversion data. Honoring GPC may be limited by technical constraints and does not apply to cookies the Website needs to work.

Do Not Track: Some browsers have a "Do Not Track" setting. Because there is no common industry standard for interpreting Do Not Track signals, the Website may not respond to all of them. You can use the other controls in this section to manage cookies and tracking.

Data Retention

We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy, such as providing services, running our Programs (including surveys and review requests), keeping business records, resolving disputes, enforcing our agreements, and meeting legal obligations. This is typically no longer than 5 years after your last interaction with us, unless otherwise required by law. When we no longer need information, we take reasonable steps to delete it, remove the details that identify you, or dispose of it securely.
